A first for Poland!Sourdure, Ernest Bergez’s solo project, will kick off a series of unique concerts in the heart of Wrzeszcz. This French musician and artist, known for his work with bands such as Kaumwald, Orgue Agnès, and Tanz Mein Herz, masterfully blends traditional Auvergne folk music with experimental sounds and electronics in his work. Playing the violin and singing in the Occitan language, Bergez creates unique soundscapes—rooted in history yet modern at the same time.
Among his most important releases are the albums *La Virée* (2015), *L’Espròva* (2018), “Mantras” (2019), and “De Mòrt Viva” (2021). The latter was recognized in the prestigious year-end roundups of The Wire, The Quietus, and Nowe idzie od morza. Sourdure’s work stands out for its skillful blend of archaic melodies with modern electronic textures, drawing inspiration from various folk traditions.
– In the music of the La Nòvia collective, in the band Cocanha, and even in my own music, there lies the idea of living through tradition. We are a generation that has not been cut off from traditional culture.We don’t want to turn it into a museum, but rather to pour a lot of ourselves into traditional music,” says Ernest Bergez, composer, vocalist, and creator of the projects Sourdure, kaumwald, Tanz Mein Herz, and Orgue Agnès.
We invite you to this extraordinary concert, which will take place in the intimate setting of our headquarters. This is just the beginning of a series of events featuring avant-garde, improvised, and experimental music, which we organize on select days of the month at 12:00 p.m.
