On Thursday summer evenings, Staw Wróbla in Gdańsk’s Jasień neighborhood will once again become a venue for live music. Following the success of previous editions, residents and visitors will have the opportunity for the fifth time to attend a series of intimate outdoor concerts that have become a permanent fixture in the district’s cultural landscape. The picturesque waterside setting will once again transform into a stage for artists representing various facets of Polish independent music.
From the very beginning, the series has focused on artists associated with independent music who are exploring new forms of expression. This year, we’ll hear, among other things, folk-inspired music, original songs, and alternative pop. This year’s edition will take place in a new spatial setting.
The concerts will remain at Wróbel Pond, but will move to the area around the footbridge between the Mielnik café and the Boukoff Gallery, across from the Jasień PKM bus stop—to a place where music, art, and neighborhood gatherings naturally complement one another.

LAZYDOLPHIN | July 30 | 7:00 p.m.
Lazydolphin is the solo project of Lithuanian artist Dominyka Kriščiūnaitė, who has been building her own intimate musical world at the intersection of bedroom pop, electronic music, and alternative rock for years. Her latest album, *music for stretching* (2025) combines synthesizers, bass, subtle vocals, and rhythms that conceal emotional tension beneath their calm surface. It is music that is tender, direct, and full of everyday observations, posing questions about our relationships with ourselves and the world around us.
MANIUCHA BIKONT AND MAREK POSPIESZALSKI | August 6 | 7:00 p.m.
Maniucha Bikont—a vocalist, researcher of traditional music, and co-founder of projects such as Maniucha and Ksawery and Tęgie Chłopy—has been blending traditional songs with improvisation and a contemporary sensibility for years. Marek Pospieszalski is one of Poland’s most important improvisers and saxophonists, known for his original projects that reinterpret 20th-century music. Their duo emerges from the intersection of tradition and improvisation, creating music full of focus, empathy, and spontaneity. Their repertoire features echoes of folk songs, original compositions, and space for a free dialogue between voice and instrument.
SAM KOWALSKI | August 20 | 7:00 p.m.
Sam Kowalski is a solo project by Mateusz Kowalski—a musician associated with, among others, Radical Polish Ansambl, Tęgi Chłopi, the Warsaw Sentimental Orchestra, and Monodia Polska—and a recipient of the Special Award from the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in the Nowa Tradycja 2024 competition. During the concert, we will hear oberek melodies from the Przysucha area, based on many years of field research and oral tradition. Traditionally performed on the violin, this time they will be accompanied by the gitalele. The concert will be accompanied by a screening of a VHS film shot during a tour of villages in the Przysucha region.
MICHAŁ BIELA | August 27 | 7:00 p.m.
Michał Biela is a guitarist, bassist, and vocalist known for his work with the bands Kristen, Ścianka, and Kings of Caramel. His 2014 solo debut earned him a nomination for the “Polityka” Passport Award. He creates intimate, minimalist songs based on subtle guitar arrangements and his distinctive, warm voice. In Gdańsk, he will perform songs from his debut album as well as his latest compositions sung in Polish. He will be accompanied on stage by guitarist Tomasz Śliwka, who has been collaborating with Biela on his new material.
GRZESŁAW NAWROCKI & DOBRZY LUDZIE | September 3 | 7:00 p.m.
Grzesław Nawrocki & Dobrzy Ludzie is a collective where songs meet improvisation, humor, and psychedelic energy. Nawrocki, who for years led the avant-pop group Kobiety, is one of the most important figures on the Tri-City independent scene. As a solo artist, he creates personal, intelligent songs, as exemplified by his highly acclaimed album *Moja mama ma depresję i siedem innych piosenek o miłości* (*My Mom Has Depression and Seven Other Songs About Love*). He is accompanied by outstanding musicians: Tomek Ziętek, Macio Moretti, and Jarek Marciszewski. Together, they create concerts full of musical surprises, spontaneity, and stage charm.
