In 2021, over the course of three evenings in August, we invited participants to closed or semi-closed venues. Paweł Szamburski performed extraordinary pieces from the album “Uroboros” for clarinet and electronics in the auditorium of the Conradinum School, which was founded in 1900. The band Jantar, which plays songs inspired by Brazilian music, performed in the charming garden of Villa Eva in Górny Wrzeszcz. Meanwhile, Gaba Kulka, together with Hubert Zemler and Wojtek Traczyk, performed originally arranged compositions by the German band Kraftwerk on the stage of the Miniatura Theater.
For the 2020 “Nowe idzie od morza” concert series, we decided to hold the events in places where no one had ever played live music before. Wacław Zimpel performed the song “Ebbing the Tide” against the atmospheric backdrop of a tennis court on Podleśna Street. The band Wczasy performed their hit songs illuminated by the goalposts on the GUMed soccer field. With the Sutari trio, we rose above the neighborhood—their concert featuring material from “Siostry Rzeki” took place above the Stary Sobieski Reservoir. The Piernikowski concert, full of smoke and lights, took place just as high up—on the roof of Galeria Metropolia, almost at the same height as the skyscrapers. Meanwhile, the jazz band Błoto performed right where people buy fruits and vegetables every day—at the Wrzeszcz market.

The “Nowe idzie od morza” concerts were first organized in 2017–2018 in collaboration with the 100cznia club on the former shipyard grounds in Gdańsk. Performing on stage among the shipping containers were, among others, Algorhythm, Quantum Trio, Trupa Trupa, Syny, Nagrobki, Lonker See, Kwiaty, and 1988.
As part of our activities, we’ve also organized concerts for other projects. In 2018, during Wrzeszcz Night, we invited Polish drummers—both men and women—to perform solo sets throughout the city. Three years later, during the next edition of the event, Emil Miszk and his band performed *Requiem for Non-Existent Cemeteries* in Academic Park. Meanwhile, the duo Jazxing played a set during the Great Avenue Festival.
